Samuel Peter Forry

Samuel Peter Forry, 72, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024 after an extended illness. Sam was born May 11, 1952, a native of Indiana and the son of the late Phyllis Hadden Forry and Fred Frank Forry. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert Forry and Frank Forry.

Sam was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and East Tennessee State University. He was co-owner of Forry’s Plant Palace for over 20 years, as well as a Sales Consultant for Cadmet Corporation. 

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Woods Forry, and pup, Max, both of the home; step-daughter, Mary Melissa Threadgill Brunetti (Oliver) of the UK; niece, Hadden Goodman (Travis) of Jackson Hole, WY; nephew, Samuel P. Forry (Nikki) of Garrett Park, MD and their children, Jonathan and Joseph; and many nieces and nephews.

A private family remembrance service will be held at a later date in Solomon Creek Cemetery, Syracuse, IN and at Lake Wawasee near the family home, where so many happy hours were spent.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Gibbs Cancer Center, 380 Serpentine Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or to Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.

The family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Vikas Dembla and his amazing staff, Dr. Richard Harp and his wonderful staff, as well as the incredible, caring support staff at the Gibbs Cancer Center and Spartanburg Regional Home Hospice. A special thanks to all the family and friends who gave love and support during this difficult time. Sam will be very missed.
