Sandra Dickson Olson

Spartanburg, SC- Sandra Dickson Olson, 79, passed away unexpectedly from cardiac complications on January 6, 2018.  A memorial service will be held at Summit Hills Retirement Community in Spartanburg, SC this Saturday, January 13th at 3:00 pm. Sandy was born in Des Moines, Iowa and received a Bachelor’s degree from Iowa State Teachers College (now Northern Iowa University).  She earned a Master’s degree from USC in Columbia, SC.  Sandy taught middle school and was a guidance counselor at Campus I in Irmo, SC. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Hilsman (Ralph); son, Byron Olson (Laurie); and four grandsons, Riley Hilsman, Cal Hilsman, Bennett Olson, and Blake Olson.
