Shelby Hughes Boyce, age 88, wife of Thomas Edward Boyce, Sr., died on Saturday, March 16, 2024. She grew up in South Carolina and was the daughter of the late W. Clyde and Ola Mae R. Hughes.
Mrs. Boyce was an active member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, where she formerly served as President of the Episcopal Church Women, member of the Pastoral Care team, a Chalice Bearer, and served as the Flower Guild Chairperson for many years. In her career, she served as assistant to the 4th District Congressman and was later a business owner. She was a member of Questers International, an organization dedicated to preservation and restoration, a member of the Spartanburg Arts Center, Garden Club, and Historical Association. She formerly served as a volunteer for Mobile Meals. She was a talented artist, and enjoyed her gardens, her home, and her four grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Karen Boyce Fisher of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a son, Thomas Edward Boyce, Jr. (Cindy) of Inman, SC; and her much loved grandchildren, Nicholas Marc Fisher, Anna Catherine Fisher, Evan Michael Fisher, and Meredith Laurel Boyce.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024, at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall, 400 Dupre Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.

The family will be at the home of Tom, Jr. and Cindy.
