Soua Vang Xiong
In Remembrance of a Life Well Lived
Sunrise: March 30, 1930 - Sunset: November 30, 2021
Soua was born in Xieng Khuang, Laos to Pa Chao Vang and Mee Xiong. She was married to Tong Chao Xiong and had 5 children - 3 boys and 2 girls. Unfortunately, Soua's youngest son and daughter didn't survive the harsh life in Laos. In the fall of August 1978, they both immigrated to the USA, along with their parents and children, and built a life together in Merced, CA. However, it is with great sadness that Soua's beloved husband was called home to heaven on January 15,, 2006. He was a proud SGU veteran.
Soua's oldest child, Robert Xiong, is married to Sheng Vang. Together, they are blessed with 7 children; 5 girls, 2 boys, and 1 grandson. Her second child, John bee xiong, sadly was called home by God on November 11, 2013; leaving behind his wife, Kao Lee, and 5 children
(4 boys, 1 girl, and 4 grandchildren). Her daughter, Kia Yang, is also blessed
with 9 children; 5 boys, 4 girls, and 13 grandchildren.
Soua belonged to the Hmong CMA Church in Merced, CA. She repented her sins and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and Lord. She placed all her trust in Jesus and was baptized before she came to live with her son, Robert, in Spartanburg, SC. Soua was also a member of New Life Upstate Church in Boiling Springs.
In September 2009, Soua suffered from a stroke and was rendered partially paralyzed throughout the right side of her body. With the grace of God and strong determination, along with physical therapy she was able to gain some mobility back. She was such an independent woman and this illness did not stop her from living the life that God had planned for her.
Soua wasn't just a housewife, but she was the true definition of what a "Mother" represented. She not only raised her own children, but she took care of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well. God gave her the special gift of nurturing and loving those less fortunate. To those who had the opportunity to meet her or knew her, they have nothing but kind words to describe her characteristics.
Even though Soua's temporary life on earth has come to an end, this is only the beginning, as she will enter the kingdom of heaven and have eternal life with God forever.
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4.
We all love you and will miss you dearly, Soua Xiong until the day we meet again at heaven's gates.
"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words." I Thessalonians 4:16-18.
In celebrating Soua's life, her funeral service will be held from 9:00am til noon on Saturday, December 18th at J.M Dunbar Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow right after at Heritage Memorial Gardens, in Roebuck. Families and friends are welcome to lunch provided by the Xiong Family at NewLife Upstate Church.
