Steven F Hughey

Steven F. Hughey, 68, passed away Thursday, March 9,2023 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.  He was predeceased by his parents Cecil Hughey and Sara Turner Hughey.   

Steve is survived by his wife of almost 44 years, Susan; his son, Steven Michael (Taylor); and his grandson, Steven James Hughey, 'Jamey', who was a shining light in his life. He is also survived by his brother, Cecil Hughey, Jr. 'Mike'; sister, Shelia Seifert (Harold); niece, Brandi Bailey; great-niece, Rebecca Bailey; and great-nephew, Aiden Haygood. His extended family includes his mother in-law and father in-law, Virginia and Calvin Lindler of Prosperity; brother in-law, Rubin; sister in-law, Jan Williams of Little Mountain; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Steve was also predeceased by a daughter, Stephanie LaVonne Hughey; and great-niece, Stephanie Marie Bailey.

Steve was a graduate of Spartanburg High School, class of 1974 and Spartanburg Technical College, class of 1994.  He worked at Beaumont Mills 28 years, where he started out in the spinning department while in high school and working his way up to management.  He went on to work for Tyco and Sealed Air Simpsonville before retiring. He always had a list of things he needed to do around our house or 'grandma's' and was hardly idle.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday March 14, 2 pm, at Heritage Memorial Gardens in Roebuck.  Family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
