Susan Gregory Merrell

Campobello, SC- Susan Gregory Merrell, 58, wife of Joe Merrell, died peacefully at home on Friday, December 25, 2020. Born March 7, 1962 in Spartanburg, SC, Susan was the beloved daughter of the late Bobby Eugene and Elaine Wilder Gregory. She was a graduate of USC Upstate and the California College of Respiratory Therapy. Susan worked as a respiratory therapist for over 20 years. Susan was a kind, generous, and precious spirit who loved her children and adored her grandchildren. Her family’s hearts will ache in her earthly absence, but will rejoice that she is in the presence of her Lord & Savior. In addition to her husband, Joseph Taylor Merrell, Sr., she is survived by her adored children, Haley Turner and her husband, Tim, Joe Taylor Merrell, and Olivia Merrell; five grandchildren, Mia, Lauren, Kaylee, Judah, and Caden; and her brother, Rob Gregory and his wife, Lynn, and their children, Alli and Evan. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 31st, 10:00-11:00AM at Dunbar Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow in the Chapel at 11:00AM. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Susan, Homer, and their close knit community. Susan valued their devoted friendship, support, and comradery they shared over the years.
