Suzy Goodson Taylor

Spartanburg, SC- Suzy Goodson Taylor, 75, wife of the late William C. “Bill” Taylor, Jr., passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

Born September 21, 1947 in Bennettsville, SC, Suzy was a daughter of the late Ernest Goodson, Sr. and Lillian Pratt Goodson. She was a graduate of Winthrop University and obtained advanced degrees from Converse College. Suzy was a dedicated and beloved teacher at Dorman High School. For more than 3 decades, she brought enthusiasm, compassion, and creativity to her students in the classroom and finished her career mentoring new teachers arriving to District 6.

Suzy is survived by her son, William C. “Tad” Taylor, III, of Spartanburg, SC; a grandson, John Clark “Jack” Taylor; sister, Cheryl G. “Cherry” Baxter of Roebuck, SC; a brother, Ernest “Chic” Goodson, Jr. of Florence, SC; nephews, Ben Mills and Chad Baxter; and nieces, Caroline Robinette, Barrett Jackson, Christy Goodson, and Chanda Jeffords.

She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Martha Taylor.

A celebration of her life will be held at Eden Terrace on Friday, February 17^th, 2:00 PM.

A visitation will follow.
