Terry Lyn Childress, 65, of Boiling Springs, SC went to his heavenly home on Monday, March 24, 2025. He was born in Winston-Salem, NC on July 24, 1959 to Mary Lynn Brannock Childress and the late LeeRoy Childress.
A graduate of Mount Airy High School, he was an accomplished athlete, playing guard on the football team and establishing a lifelong love for sports. His passion for football had extended far beyond his own participation, and he remained a dedicated fan of the University of North Carolina Tar Heels throughout his life.
Terry found immense joy in coaching youth baseball, where his dedication to mentoring and teaching the next generation left a lasting impact on countless young athletes. His love for sports was matched only by his devotion to his family. Terry never missed a ball game or wrestling match for his children or grandchildren. His family meant the world to him, and he was their biggest supporter and most devoted fan.
For over 30 years, Terry was a loyal employee of Davis Services, Inc., contributing to the well-being of his community as an HVAC Commercial Installer. He loved the Lord. His family, and his community were his priorities, and he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and devotion.
He is survived by his wife, Missy Childress; children, Fallon Childress (Tyler), T.J. Childress (Megan), and Timothy Childress; stepsons, Brandon Davis (Ashley) and Matt Davis (Julia); granddaughters, Emalyn and Beckham Childress; several step-grandchildren; and brother, Timmy Childress (Penny).
