Thomas Lee Hatchette, 85, of Spartanburg, SC passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice House. He was born in Spartanburg on July 27, 1939 to the late Gladys Thornton and Wade Thomas Hatchette.
Tom was a 1957 graduate of Cowpens High School. He met his beloved wife, Gwendolyn Kay Bell Hatchette; they were married in 1964 and had 59 wonderful years together. Tom retired as Vice President of Aden Bonded Warehouse, a division of Montgomery Industries, after 39 years of service. Outside of work, he enjoyed trading cars and motorhomes and spending time with his family, including his dog, Jumper.
Along with his wife, Gwen, he is survived by his brother, John Hatchette (Cheryl); sister-in-law, Abbie Hatchette; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Lawson; brother, Robert Hatchette; and sister-in-law, Debbie Luttrell Hatchette.
Graveside services will be 10:00am on Saturday, September 14, 2024 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by Rev. Julie Schaaf. The family will receive friends following the services at the graveside.
In honor of Tom, memorial contributions may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, care of the Spartanburg Regional Foundation.
