TJ West

Roebuck, SC- TJ West, 81, husband of Nancy Greene West, died Sunday, April 23, 2017. Born March 21, 1936 in Woodruff, SC, TJ was the son of the late Troy James and Lois Lyda West. He was a member of the Roebuck Masonic Lodge #357 and Roebuck Baptist Church, where he was actively involved in the Adults Unlimited Sunday School Class. TJ retired from District 6 after many years of service, and continued to work for the State of South Carolina following his retirement. He was a great fisherman and the head story teller at the Hardee’s Liars Club. In addition to his beloved wife of 61 years, TJ is survived by his son, Steve West (Tena) of Lyman, SC; daughter, Tammy Goens (Jesse) of Roebuck, SC; grandchildren, Steven A. West, Abbey, Josh, and Tyler Wright; and great grandchildren, Katelin West, Olivia and Charlie Kate Humphries, and Troy James Wright. He was predeceased by a daughter, Chena West; and a sister, Faye Vaughn. A memorial service with masonic rites will be held Wednesday, April 26th, 3PM at Dunbar Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Dr. Tim Williams and Reverend Carrol Caldwell. The family will receive friends following the service.
