Tommy Gene Waldrop

Spartanburg, SC- Tommy Gene Waldrop, 72, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 23, 2021. Born March 11, 1949 in Spartanburg, SC, Tommy was a son of the late Calvin “Buddy” and Margaret Mason Waldrop. He honorably served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War, earning a Bronze Star. Tommy was employed with Spartan Mills for over 30 years and retired from Owens Corning. He was a member of North Spartanburg Freewill Baptist Church. Tommy is survived by his son, Richard Wilkie (Larissa) of Dacusville, SC; his daughter, Candice Abrams (Robert) of Inman, SC; grandchildren, Macon and Meredith Wilkie, Summer Truesdale, and Morgan Lawter; a great grandson, Wyatt Tuesdale; and his brothers, Calvin Waldrop of Roebuck, SC, Ray Waldrop (Kathy) of Spartanburg, SC, and Darren Waldrop (Audrey) of Spartanburg, SC. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 26th, 5-7PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 27th, 11:00AM in Heritage Memorial Gardens.
