Spartanburg, SC- Violet Brown Littlejohn, 92, wife of the late James Rupert “Jimmy” Littlejohn, died Sunday, July 25, 2021. Born August 26, 1928 in Spartanburg, SC, Violet was a daughter of the late Fred H. and Venity Hammett Brown. She was a member of First Baptist Church Spartanburg where she served in the Sanctuary Choir. Violet was the epitome of a “Southern Lady.” Full of charm, hospitality, elegance, and generosity, she was a true domestic engineer. Violet was an excellent cook, demonstrating her love through every dish served to all that sat at her table. She will be lovingly missed by her daughter, Rosemary L. Kirby and her husband, Marshall; her grandson, James Randall “Jamie” Kirby, all of Spartanburg, SC; a brother, Kenneth Brown and his wife, Marilyn, of Florence, SC; a sister, Lorene B. Waldrep of Greenwood, SC; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Reverend Fred H. Brown; and a sister, Betty Jean B. Smith. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to her beloved caregivers, Lucy Gist, Carlette Harden, and Kindred Hospice for being the hands and feet of Jesus during this time. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 28th, 11:00AM at Dunbar Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Sal Barone. A private burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
