Wallace Iyre Burnette

Wallace Iyre "Wally" Burnette, 78, went to be with the Lord peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Spartanburg Regional Hospital. Born September 20, 1945, in Lynchburg, Virginia, Wally was the son of the late Elmer and Susie Burnette. He was a longtime member of Joy Lutheran Church in Moore, SC. Wally was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Jan Burnette. He is survived by his sons, Brian Tucker (Joie) of Pauline, SC, Derek Sean (Tara) of Fair Play, SC, and daughter, Karen Horton (Daniel) of Spartanburg, SC; 8 grandchildren, Coleman Burnette(22), Erin Burnette(20), Jenna Burnette(14), Jaxon Burnette(18), Addison Burnette(15), Natalee Horton(14), Madalin Horton(11), and Nathaniel Horton(11); one sister, Clara Marshall (Frank) of Hoschton, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. Wally will be laid to rest on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. A private memorial and interment of ashes will be held at Joy Lutheran Church in Moore, SC and officiated by Pastor Lane Bembenek.
