Wilburn "Jerrel" Parton, aged 76, beloved husband of 55 years to Stella Louise Parton, passed away on February 7th, 2024. He was born on February 24th, 1947, in Craighead County, Arkansas, to the late William Clyde Parton and Bonnie Jean Pruitt. Jerrel proudly served his country as an army veteran and was a dedicated member of Roebuck Baptist Church for many years. There, he faithfully served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. Throughout his career, Jerrel made significant contributions as he worked for M.E.M.C., National Starch, and Spartanburg School District Six. A passionate educator and coach, Jerrel found great joy in teaching and coaching various sports, including basketball, football, and baseball. He was known for his dedication to his students and players, leaving a lasting impact on all those he mentored. Above all, Jerrel cherished his role as a family man and adored spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Louise, by his sons; William Jerrel Parton (April) of Roebuck, S.C., and Roy Sean Parton (Brooke) of Atlanta, G.A., his grandchildren; Steven (Hope), Ethan, Brayden, Weston, and Sloane Parton, and Jordan McFadden, and two great grandchildren; Will and Charlie Parton. He is also survived by a sister; Jane Yancey (John), and a sister in law, Hannah Cargill. A memorial service to celebrate Jerrel's life will be held on Saturday, February 10th, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Roebuck Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Tim Williams. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. to 1:45 P.M. in the sanctuary.
