William "Dub" Joseph Garrett

Moore, SC- William Joseph Garrett, Sr., 80, husband of Epifania Carmona Garrett, died Monday, August 7, 2017. Born March 5, 1937 in Spartanburg, SC, Dub was a son of the late Loran Fredrick and Pearly Jane Miller Garrett. He honorably served his country in the US Airforce, was a skilled electrician by trade, and retired from J. Frank Blakely after 33 years of service. In addition to that, Dub was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, traveling, and was a member of Stone Station Baptist Church. In addition to his beloved wife of 62 years, he is survived by his daughter, Patsy Garrett; sons, Weasel Garrett (Tammy), Ronnie Garrett (Jami Bishop), and Bernard Culberson (Jennifer); ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two brothers, Fred and Harold Garrett; two sisters, Caroline Easler and Josie McKeown; and a special friend, Martha Culberson. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 10th, 1-2PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow in the Chapel at 2PM, officiated by Reverend Jackie Bridwell. Burial with Military Honors will be held in Heritage Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
