William Lee Moore A devoted husband, wonderful father, and loving grandfather, died March 1st, 2021 at the age of 83 in Charleston, South Carolina. He was surrounded by the love of his life, his wife Brenda of 59 years, and his three daughters. Born June 19, 1937, in Spartanburg South Carolina to the late Walter Maynard Moore Sr. and Myrtle Mooneyham Moore, Bill, as he was known by family and friends, was a steadfast Christian man. He served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and usher at Bethlehem Baptist Church. His love for Jesus led him to be instrumental in establishing a bus ministry while serving at Bethlehem. After 36 years at TRANSCO, he retired thus enabling him to focus on enjoying his family and other interests. Being from the generation known for its work ethic, Bill had the ability to fix anything. Whether it be, building houses, landscaping, repairing anything mechanical, or inventing “a better way”, Bill was the man. His skill set was vast and sharing his knowledge and time proved to be an invaluable gift to many. He had such a compassionate heart and never hesitated to help a family member or neighbour in need. The loving title of Father eventually gave way to a higher calling of Grandpa and then higher to GPa for his great-grandchildren. The title Grandpa was not only used by grandchildren, but by close friends and members of the community who admired him. It was this title that brought Bill Moore the greatest joy. Many times, “Hey Grandpa” could be heard as he walked the aisle of the local hardware store, visited a restaurant, or simply from a car driving by the house. Perhaps the most beautiful legacy, beyond a family, any man can have is to be gentle in spirit and kind in heart. Those who were fortunate enough to know him experienced these qualities first hand. Bill Moore loved life with no boundaries; and his family endlessly. He knew each day on earth was a gift from God. We knew, Bill Moore was a gift from God. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his loving wife Brenda Waddell Moore, Hanahan, SC; children Carolyn Moore Wenger, Hanahan, SC, Lee Ann Moore/Cindy Kerr, Hanahan, SC, Cyndi Moore Trothier/Paul, Kingsland, Georgia.
