James Ernest Collins

Moore, SC- James Ernest Collins, Jr., 63, died Tuesday, April 16, 2019. Born December 4, 1955 in Robbinsville, NC, Ernie was a son of Katherine Ruth McCall Collins and the late James Ernest Collins, Sr. In his younger years, Ernie successfully raised and bred Siamese show cats. He was a knowledgeable antiquer and enjoyed collecting. Later in life, Ernie could be found in the garden, admiring the birds, or reading and solving puzzles. In addition to his mother, Ernie is survived by his brother, Joseph Mark Collins and his wife, Karen, and their children, Crystal Marie Collins, Joseph Andrew Collins (Rebecca), and Daniel Mark Collins (Morgan); a sister, Delonda Lea Borkey and her husband, Jim, and their children, Justin Daniel Uldrick and Dillon Michael Uldrick; a sister, Kathy Collins Gaffney and her husband, Matthew, and their children, Tiffany Nicole Leathers (Wil), Colin Michael Gaffney, Connor Matthew Gaffney, and Emily Faith Gaffney; great nieces and nephew, Selah Grace Cunningham, Devin Rogers Lowe Collins, and Sarah Kathren Collins. He was predeceased by a brother, Jerome Bryant. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 20th, 12:00-1:00PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Chapel at 1:00PM. Burial will be held in Westwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
